Lego has a lot of Hobbit sets out for December, coinciding with the release of the first film in the new Tolkien trilogy. This set is particularly good, big and fun.

The only bad thing about it is the large pieces used for some of the walls. I wish they used individual bricks to build those. In fact, some of the walls are built with many bricks, showing you how to create rocky textures. But other than this, this was enjoyable to build, with a wide range of techniques and plenty of mechanical traps and fun moving elements.

It also includes a lot of minifigs: Gandalf the Grey, Dori the Dwarf, Nori the Dwarf, Ori the Dwarf, Goblin Scribe, two Goblin Soldiers and big ass The Goblin King. It's quite a big set, for $100. [Amazon and Lego Store]
