This morning Lego confirmed a special Simpsons series will launch in 2014. The announcement has already sparked some controversy from certain members of the Lego fan community. Most complaints concern the "age-appropriateness" of The Simpsons, to which the world responds with "Eat my shorts!"
Personally, I think a Lego Simpsons town would kick ass! Especially if it stays true to the series, which was modeled on this town outside Eugene, OR. No word yet whether the set includes the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant or Moe's Tavern. Marge's blue beehive is, however, pretty much a guarantee.
Lego spokesman Roar Rude Trangbaek wouldn't give any details about what characters would be included, but said the company hopes the series will "appeal to fans of 'The Simpsons' family."
It makes sense that Lego is creating a Simpsons set, after all Mr. Burns once dumped nuclear waste under Lego Land (there's also a "Blockoland" in the show) and caused the park's models to come to life and terrorize children.
